Production notes: Picked dead last in the preseason coaches poll, the Oregon State Beavers were the Cinderella story of the 2020-21 basketball season, not just for the Pac-12, but on the national stage. Oregon State entered the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament as a No. 5 seed, already a far leap from where the team started at the beginning of the season, but far from hopefuls to win the whole tournament. In the quarterfinals, the Beavers took on the No. 4 seed UCLA Bruins, rallied from a 16-point deficit to force overtime, then overcame three players fouling out to edge UCLA 83-79. The Beavers would go on to win the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament and make it all the way to the Elite Eight in NCAA's March Madness. From a technical standpoint, Pac-12 Networks produced every single game from Las Vegas, including three games for ESPN, thanks to several innovations that came to life over the course of the pandemic. The Pac-12 Networks team utilized everything from mobile production units in Las Vegas to several control rooms in San Francisco to Zoom interfaces between statisticians and on-site talent.
